Pacific Wren still present over last hour as described by Nathan Pieplow. Seen and heard by three of us.

I didn't see it, but I got an audio recording of the call, which is a very good spectrographic match for Pacific. Caution is warranted since agitated Winters can sound very much like Pacifics. More audio recordings would be great. But after the initial burst of calls, the bird fell silent. It did not respond to playback of song or call of either wren species. The bird was in a brush pile on the north side of the creek, pretty much directly south of the locally famous Great Horned Owl nest, which is inside the top of a broken-off cottonwood across the creek from the trail. Owlet and adult were in the nest this morning.
