I had 14 species of shorebirds at Lower Queens Reservoir today (thanks to Ric Olsen for directions). Best we’re Semipalmated and Snowy Plovers and Western Sandpiper-the latter among many Semipalmated and Baird’s Sandpipers. I couldn’t find yesterday’s White-rumped Sandpiper and the Whimbrels present yesterday apparently sent a stand-in Long-billed Curlew which is still a beautiful bird! Good birding. Bill Fink
