Found a singing male this am along the Arkansas River walk trail east of City Park. The area is below the Aberdeen Bluffs development a few hundred meters upstream from the pedestrian bridge on the south bank of the river. The bird was gleaning insects from locust trees where the tall chain link fence that borders the development ends and meets a wooden split-rail fence for a private property. One can park at the bottom of Reservoir Rd which is farther upstream near the water treatment plant on the south side of the river and walk downstream along the paved river walk to reach the spot. If you walk father downstream towards the pedestrian bridge you may also hear/observe the Carolina wren that has been around for some years and also a Bell's vireo. The Bell's was in a Russian olive thicket. Other birds of interest included western tanager and Swainson's thrush.
Also found a black-chinned hummingbird building a nest ~30 feet up in a spruce tree in the neighbor's yard here in Aberdeen. Birdy morning here in Pueblo!
