We again birdied the Jefferson County Open Space Park on Plainview Road, off Coal Creek Canyon Road, yesterday. In the snags about 2 miles in, we saw a pair of Red-headed Woodpeckers entering a nesting hole and apparently feeding nestlings. Just up the road into the pines, we found a pair of Dickcissels feeding a fledgling. This beautiful prairie is filled with wildflowers and birds. Jeffco is looking for reports on sightings of prairie birds as well. JoAnn and Bill Hackos, Evergreen CO, [email protected]
