Hello BrianYour pictures are of a juvenile, male broad-tailed hummingbird. The red gorge is starting to come in.The wingtips are shorter than the tail, i.e, the tail projects beyond the wingtips. This is another diagnostic feature of the broad-tailed hummingbird.
