Just this morning at about 10 am about 8-10 nighthawks were flying around our backyard and over the house. They landed in our ash tree and we could see them sitting on the branches, each one at a ‘v’ in the tree, which is almost devoid of leaves because it is sick. Then they would fly around a bit once more and now seem settled for the day.
