Hi everyone,
Our third day of banding started off fairly slow with overcast, somewhat
humid weather. Once the clouds picked up, so did the birding activity,
though that was a little short-lived as the breezy late morning caused some
early net closures.
We ended with 23 birds banded today. It seemed to be a relatively busier
day for the resident and local breeder species than for migrants, but there
was some good variety, with 14 total species.
Among the more unique captures were a female Orchard Oriole (the 12th fall
record for Chico and only the 3rd since 2011) and a Canyon Towhee (only the
3rd-ever record here).

We are open 6 days a week, closed on Sundays. We'll be opening at 6:30 AM
for the remainder of the week, and closing at 11:30, weather permitting.
