The morning began damp and overcast and the birds were very quiet for
several hours. Despite the slow start, we saw a steady increase in activity
in our nets by the end of the banding day, and we finished with 23
newly-banded birds and 3 recaptures, and at least 12 species:

Western Wood-Pewee 1
Wilson's Warbler 10 (including 1 recapture)
American Redstart 1
Nashville Warbler 1 (4th Chico banding record)
House Wren 1
Orange-crowned Warbler 5
Gray Catbird 1
Canyon Towhee 1
Northern Mockingbird 1
Cordilleran/Pacific-slope Flycatcher 1 (Recapture)
Warbling Vireo 1 (Recapture)
Unidentified *Empidonax* Flycatcher (1 was likely a Least, the other
possibly a Dusky or Gray)

We are open 6 days a week, closed on Sundays. Next week we'll be opening at
6:30 AM on Monday and Tuesday, and closing at 11:30, weather permitting.
>From Wednesday on we'll be opening at 6:40 AM and closing at 11:40.
Visitors are welcome!
