We had a fairly 'regular' day of banding at Chico this morning. No first-record captures this time (or even first of season species), just a steady stream of mostly *Wilson's Warblers* after a slow start. About 2/3 of the Wilson's Warblers we banded today were hatch-year females.
Our totals from the day were 37 newly-banded birds of 12 species: Wilson's Warbler 23 Dark-eyed Junco 1 (probably an Oregon Junco-type intergrade Orange-crowned Warbler 2 Warbling Vireo 1 Yellow Warbler 1 Lincoln's Sparrow 1 Hermit Thrush 1 Swainson's Thrush 1 Yellow-breasted Chat 1 Green-tailed Towhee 1 Gray Catbird 1 Brown Thrasher 3 We are open 6 days a week, closed on Sundays. Tomorrow we'll be opening nets at 6:40 AM and closing at 11:40 AM, with a potentially earlier close if it's hot or breezy. Visitors are welcome!
