Once again, it was very windy, especially early. We banded only 15 new
birds plus one return from last year:

Cassin's Vireo 1 (the cool bird of the morning)
Yellow-rumped Warbler, Audubon's 7
Song Sparrow 1 return, banded 2018
Lincoln's Sparrow 2
White-crowned Sparrow, Gambel's 2
Dark-eyed Junco, Pink-sided 2
Dark-eyed Junco, Oregon 1

We also caught 5 other species that were birds banded earlier in the season
to give us 11 species to show off to today's many visitors, including an
enthusiastic group from the Front Range Birding Company.

We are now opening nets at 7:40 and should have birds back at the station
by 8:20. We are closing nets most days at 11:40. We are open 6 days per
week, Tuesday-Sunday, through October 13. All of this is weather
permitting! School groups arrive most weekdays at about 9:30. The best time
to visit (fewest people, most birds) is before 9:30 weekdays and Sundays.

Come visit!
