A BIG banding day before the storm that I still can't accept is coming! We banded 78 new birds, plus caught 23 from prior days, for a total of 101 individuals. Here's the breakdown of the 78 new birds:
Hammond's Flycatcher 1 Black-capped Chickadee 1 White-breasted Nuthatch 1 Ruby-crowned Kinglet 6 Hermit Thrush 2 Orange-crowned Warbler 6 Yellow-rumped Warbler, Myrtle 4 Yellow-rumped Warbler, Audubon's 12 Yellow-rumped Warbler, Unidentified 1 Common Yellowthroat 1 Spotted Towhee 2 Chipping Sparrow 2 Song Sparrow 5 White-crowned Sparrow, Gambel's 2 Dark-eyed Junco, Oregon 12 Dark-eyed Junco, Pink-sided 18 Dark-eyed Junco, Unidentified 1 American Goldfinch 1 It is highly likely we will be closed tomorrow (Thursday)! Opening Friday will depend on weather; hopefully by mid-morning. Then hoping for a good final weekend of fall banding!
