Hello, everybody.

As most of us know, the Christmas Bird Count (CBC) season is right around
the corner, with dozens of CBCs scheduled all over the state. The CBC
season is, for many birders, "the most wonderful time of the year," but how
do you get started? And how do you keep up with recent changes--especially
in regard to synchronizing CBC reporting with eBird best practices? Get the
answers to those and other matters by participating in a Colorado CBC Field
Workshop this coming Sunday, December 8, 2019, starting at 1pm. We will get
underway at the observation deck at Greenlee Preserve. The weather looks to
be wonderful--sunny and calm, with temps in the lower 50s.

The workshop is sponsored by the City of Lafayette, and will be hosted by
Carl Bendorf and Yours Truly. The event is free and open to the public; no
RSVP req'd, but feel free to reach out to Carl and me with any questions.
Expect to walk a mile or two on wide, well-graded trails that may be
somewhat sloppy--although surely better than they are right now! All are
welcome--children and families and general curiosity-seekers especially so.
Bring binocs, cameras, and smartphones if you have them; but those things
aren't necessary.

See you on Sunday!
