Hi All,
There were a few interesting birds on Jumbo yesterday. There is still some open
water with a nice selection of waterfowl to sift through. There was one Greater
White-fronted Goose hanging with Canada Geese. The Snow Goose numbers were
about half of what they were on the Crook CBC probably about 40,000. There were
THREE Glaucous gulls, Two nice adults and a first winter bird. Thayer's gulls
were also present in good numbers, Six first year birds and two adults. An
adult Lesser Black-backed Gull was also still there. The two Trumpeter Swans
found on count were at the adjacent Red Lion SWA on a small patch of open
water. I'm sure there could be other goodies there but the open area is rather
difficult to see and masses of Snow Geese obscure a lot of the smaller birds.
Well worth trying though.
