Hi all Today, Friday, the RED-NAPED SAPSUCKER was again in its favoured tree at the west end of Centennial Park, Carbondale
Yesterday, Thursday, at Snowmass Ski area, Pitkin, I conducted another of my free outdoor bird talks at Sam’s Knob (top of the Village Express chairlift). Birds at the feeder included c25 BROWN-CAPPED ROSY-FINCHES, several PINE GROSBEAKS, STELLER’S JAYS, MOUNTAIN CHICKADEES, and single flyovers of RAVEN and CLARK’S NUTCRACKER. Later the MERLN was again near our house, this time again perched atop one of the wooden power poles on the hill just north of, and overlooking, Blue Lake – which makes the bird’s location as Eagle County, watched from Garfield. As a footnote.. Having again failed to see the Gyr Falcon at Fort Collins on Tues/Wed this week, maybe it will be third time lucky for me when I next try.. no date planned yet! Apparently if flew over my tailgate Wednesday morning as I drove out of Trilby onto Taft to briefly check the areas just south. DARN! Did see a nice flock of four American Tree Sparrows at the site though, several sightings of Prairie Falcons and Ferruginous Hawks, two adult Lesser Black-backed Gulls, together on the landfill, and several 1st cycle Thayer’s Gulls there too. good birding all, and thanks to Nick Komar for help and support at Fort Collins Dick Filby Carbondale, Garfield County -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
