This morning at the Turkey Creek Train Trestle, in the State Wildlife Area in the NW side of Pueblo Reservoir, a Red-necked Grebe (getting into breeding plumage) and a Pacific Loon were present. One of the Osprey platform nests in the SWA on the NW side of Pueblo Reservoir, had an Osprey. The first Osprey was around on 3/9 (in the Osprey Picnic Area in Rock Canyon), two were seen there on 3/10. On 3/9, a flock of 26 Sandhill Cranes flew over the Pueblo West Pit, east of Osprey Picnic Area. At Swallows, on the far west side of Pueblo Reservoir, at the end of Swallows Road, there were 3 Tree Swallows and two American White Pelicans this morning (3/11). The area was still froze over, like 10 days ago. Not totally ice free, and lots of water back there.
