Hello all,

A pair of Bald Eagles have used a nest at the north side of Marston Reservoir[
for many years. On Sunday, 5/24 the nest fell to the ground. It was on a large
rain soaked branch. The Eaglets fell out and one died and the other was very
injured. The nest was used by previous raptors and had been added to for
several years. The parents are still sitting near the nesting site.
Denver Animal Control and Denver Police came to the site. The injured chick
was taken to Birds of Prey Foundation and unfortunately died the next day from
severe internal injuries.

Birdwatchers and Photographers went to the location for years and it was one of
the local photographers who contacted individuals to help on Sunday.

We were all very privileged to watch the birds and to observe their behavior.
American Water Works Association I would like to thank for their patience with
birders.

Tina Jones,
Littleton, Jefferson County, CO.
