This rainy morning, two pale, fluffy young owls were perched on a branch above their nest (formerly used by red tail hawks) on the Riverwalk Trail. Also seen on the Trail were lazuli buntings (male and female), chats (seen and heard!), catbirds, a blue grosbeak pair, and a female black headed grosbeak. A pheasant and common yellowthroats were seen two days ago at the MacKenzie end of the Trail. Laura Gorman
