Just saw this article in the Boulder Daily Camera regarding the plans to
drain Boulder Reservoir beginning September 1.  Perhaps it's a bit late for
the shorebird fall migration, but the mudflats should be quite extensive,
and with no boat traffic should be quite peaceful.  Maybe good news for
jaeger sightings, too?
