All, If anyone else is having this issue (and I know of at least 1 more person), it seems to be caused by the new version of Google Groups. I have reported the bug to Google, so hopefully they fix it before the "classic" version is fully replaced. Here's how to switch back to "Classic"...
1. Click the settings icon (gear icon) on the top right of the coBirds page. 2. Select the "Return to classic Google Groups" option. 3. In the resulting popup box, please click on the hyperlink to tell them why you are leaving the new Google Groups view. This will open a new tab where you can report the issue (maybe they'll get the hint if lots of people tell them). 4. Once you have done reporting the bug, close the "Groups New User Experience" tab and go back to the coBirds tab that has the popup still open and click OK 5. Now you should be able to open a post and select "Reply privately to author" from the More message options on the right-hand side of the post. Note: If you are on multiple Google Groups, this change will change all of them.
