For about 3.5 weeks, I've had 2-4 Clark's Nutcrackers hanging around (I feed peanuts). I have, in 20 years, seen singles for 1 day here in various Septembers, but never had an extended multi-visit. I have NOT noticed unusual other montaine birds; juncos and red-breasted nuthatches have shown up, but i expect them in Sept. Did have a bear a week ago.
Also, Friday, 10/2, while playing golf in Fort Lupton, we had 7 or 8 flocks of sandhill cranes, mostly circling to gain altitude, between 11 and 12:15. Probably 450 total individuals. Always a great sound to hear unexpectedly. davis - at 6,000 ft. in very southern Larimer County, 5 mi NW of Lyons. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
