The Longmont area Christmas bird count was held on Saturday, Dec. 19. Preliminary total is 82 species seen on count day, about average. New species for the count were the continuing Pine Warbler and Eastern Bluebirds. many participants noted low numbers of individuals but raptors, particularly Ferruginous and Rough-legged Hawk numbers were up from recent years.
