Good Evening Colorado Birders: I certainly enjoy seeing birds, but in some ways, hearing them is even more exciting to me. Crepuscular birding can be especially good this time of year. I have had a couple neat experiences this week here in San Miguel County.
The recent thread about bird common names inspired me on the first species I'd like to share. On the evening of the 20th, at Miramonte Reservoir in central San Miguel County, Vesper Sparrows were living up to their common name at dusk. Here is a recording that is pleasing to listen to but is even more interesting to watch.
