Today was quite similar to yesterday, with a busy rush of birds in the
first hour, that quickly tapered off for the rest of the morning. We closed
a bit early due to wind, but still got in nearly a full morning. We had our
FOS Blue Grosbeaks and Western Wood-Pewees, both of which we'd been seeing
but not catching over the past few days. In total we banded 27 new birds of
12 species.

Willow Flycatcher - 4
Dusky Flycatcher - 1
Western Wood-Pewee - 2
Yellow Warbler - 3
Wilson's Warbler - 1
MacGillivray's Warbler - 3
Lincoln's Sparrow - 4
Swainson's Thrush - 3
Brown-headed Cowbird - 1
Blue Grosbeak - 2
Gray Catbird - 1
Bullock's Oriole - 2

We are open 3 days per week (Friday - Sunday) through May 30th. Chico Basin
Ranch is once again open to the public and visitors are welcome at the
banding station, click here
<https://ranchlands.com/day-visits/birding-wildlife-viewing/> for more
details on visiting. We are opening nets at about 5:30am and continuing for
5 hours, depending on weather.
