Just now a Red-breasted Nuthatch appeared in our yard for probably the second or third time in our 20 years here. We had Wilson's Warbler (2) here on Saturday being chased by two Loggerhead Shrike during the morning--no kills recorded as far as we know. :-) 13 Cattle Egret at CR 41/46 pond area east of Stewart's Pond yesterday. Saturday ... - Windsor Lake had two Forster's Tern - Windsor Reservoir had 2-3 Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs - Woods Lake Snowy and Great Egret - Cozzens Lake is open for shorebird business flock of 60-80 shorebirds including Wilson's Phalarope, Baird's, Solitary, Stilt, and Pectoral Sandpiper, Semipalmated Plover, Long-billed Dowitcher, both yellowlegs, other birds still needing ID. 193 American White Pelican loafing. - Galeton Ponds at CR 61/74 is open for shorebird business. 169 Franklin's Gull. Black-necked Stilt, Long-billed Dowitcher, Greater Yellowlegs, Semipalmated and Baird's Sandpiper. - CR 59 marsh ducks only - Loloff Reservoir saw it was full of birds did not have time to scan. Sunday ... - Trip toward CR 124 pond had Vesper, Lark, Brewer's and Chipping Sparrow, Lark Bunting (only a few as compared to two weekends ago (100s and 100s)), Say's Phoebe, Western Wood-Pewee (6), Loggerhead Shrike, Sage Thrasher and expected raptors. - 124 pond is open for shorebird business ... Greater Yellowlegs, Black Tern (3) and a few yet to be IDed "peeps". In Vermont last week I got lifer Scarlet Tanager at our hotel. Also, Cedar Waxwing there are like House Sparrow here ... all over.
