Hey COBirders,

The low diversity weirdness continues at Clear Spring Ranch banding.
I banded 40 birds today, of just 5 species, with only 5 other species seen all
morning.
It was hot, still, and quiet later in the morning, but in the low 50’s early.
Predawn I caught 17 Chipping Sparrow, followed then by 14 Wilson’s Warblers,
all before 715.
Then just a handful the rest of the morning.
Totals
Chipping Sparrow 17
Wilson’s Warbler 18
Com Yellowthroat 2
Yellow-breasted Chat 2
Spotted Towhee 1

Only seen
Canada Goose 82
Eur Starling 6
Western Kingbird 1
Yellow Warbler 1
House Wren 1

Weird.

Have a good weekend,
Steve Brown
