Did you know that Colorado’s own Gunnison Sage-grouse is among the most wanted
birds for North American birders? With less than 3000 individuals remaining in
existence, it’s future is uncertain. Colorado Field Ornithologists has been
given a rare opportunity to view these remarkable birds lekking from the only
blind available. There are eight openings on this special educational field
trip led by Chuck Hundertmark, which includes an informative lecture Thursday
evening April 21 and the blind visit April 22. Check out details at
Cobirds.org. Click on upcoming events. Registration is free to anyone enrolled
in the upcoming Colorado Birding Challenge on May 7. If you have not enrolled,
please do so today, and join us in Gunnison!
