A nice, non-windy day. We kept busy sorting out the recaps (birds banded
previously this season) from the returns (birds banded in prior years
caught for the first time this year). There were 9 returns this morning,
including a female Yellow Warbler banded as an adult in 2016, making her at
least 8 years old.

Here's the breakdown of the 9 returns plus the 26 newly banded today:

Black-capped Chickadee 1
House Wren 4
Gray Catbird 1 new, 1 banded in 2021, 1 in 2019
Yellow Warbler 8 new, 3 banded in 2021, 1 in 2019, 1 in 2016
American Redstart 1 banded in 2019
Common Yellowthroat 4
Wilson's Warbler 1
Yellow-breasted Chat 1 new, 1 banded 2021
Spotted Towhee 1
Lincoln's Sparrow 4
White-crowned Sparrow, Gambel's 1

We are open 6 mornings per week, closed on Mondays. Registration is
required to visit on the weekends - there are three 1 hour sessions,
starting at 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30. Go here
<https://denveraudubon.org/events/> to register. There are school groups
every week day, arriving about 9:30. Individuals may drop by early
mornings during the week although there are groups visiting early on some
days.
