A biologist just wrote me about a sighting in Gunnison County. Are there records of this species north of southern TX? "I just saw a ringed kingfisher (the larger/est kingfisher) along the river by the hummingbird nest that the crow got. I saw these all the time in Venezuela so I am sure of my ID." Dr. David W.
