In my mind, the Wilson's Warbler should be the CO state bird for the month of September. I am not knocking the Lark Bunting one bit- it is a very nice State Bird. Today was evidence that the Wilson's are passing through southern CO. A new species for the year the Chestnut-sided Warbler and other highlights included the Warbling Vireo and Townsend's Warbler. Eighteen bird species were captured, banded, and released unharmed. *85 New Birds* Wilson's Warbler -43 Townsend's Warbler -1 Orange-crowned Warbler -7 Chestnut-sided Warbler -1 Hammond's Flycatcher -2 Dusky Flycatcher -2 Western Flycatcher-1 Warbling Vireo -1 Clay-colored Sparrow -3 Brewer's Sparrow -1 Chipping Sparrow -3 Lincoln's Sparrow-5 Lark Sparrow -1 Green -tailed Towhee -1 Western Tanager -1 Gray Catbird -2 Brown Thrasher -7 American Robin -3
