Observation start time: 09:30:00
Observation end time: 15:30:00
Total observation time: 6 hours

Official Counter: Carol Cwiklinski

Observers: Janet Peters, Steve Ryder

Visitors:
Four visitors stopped by to look at our numbers sign and ask about the
count.

Weather:
Today it was cold, very cold. When we arrived hoarfrost covered the
vegetation, it persisted through the day as temperatures remained at or
below freezing. The cloud ceiling was low, and snow storms could be seen
South and into the mountains west.

Raptor Observations:
We did not observe any non migrant raptors. Our two Prairie Falcon migrants
were counted early, at eye level to the ridge.

Non-raptor Observations:
Passerines were quiet today with the usual SCJA, TOSO, NOFL, BCCH, MOCH.
One beautiful Cassin’s finch was spotted just north of obs on the ridge
top. There was elk sign on the trail.

Predictions:
Tomorrow’s predicted weather sounds similar to what we experienced today.
Prepare for cold conditions.
