This morning the Black Canyon Audubon's "First Tuesday" trip to Cerise Park in Montrose found a Gadwall x Mallard hybrid (also known as a "Brewer's Duck" ). The location where the duck was found was across the river at River Bottom Park. The Gadwall x Mallard combination is common enough to have a nickname, but rare enough to be a treat (I've only seen two or three in my years of birding). Here is my checklist showing the duck: eBird Checklist - 7 Mar 2023 - Cerise Regional Park - 25 species (+3 other taxa) <https://ebird.org/checklist/S130420877> .
