Hundreds of birders from the Western Slope to the Eastern Plains have
participated in the past, raising more than $75,000 for critical
conservation efforts in our state.

This year’s event takes place Saturday, May 20th during peak spring
migration. The objective for this year’s event is to:

· Engage hundreds of birders in a fun day of finding and learning about
Colorado's birds.

· Raise funds for Pinyon Jay conservation; specifically, the surveying and
mapping of breeding colony locations to prioritize for land conservation.
>From 1967–2015, the population levels of Pinyon Jays fell by an estimated
83.5%. Identifying these areas is critical for long-term habitat management
and protection.

· Generate eBird data for all 64 counties on the same day.

· Provide support for the expanding programs and work of Colorado Field
Ornithologists.
