A foggy morning to start the day with the sun came out @ 1000. A large selection of Swainson's Thrushes again today. From the looks of things a few birds stuck around for a day due to the weather last night. We recaptured nine birds from previous days.
The highlight of the day was a Say's Phoebe return from 2020 banded as an adult which means it was at least three years old at banding time. The Say's Phoebe had a brood patch and she was at least six years old this year! Hoping she returns for another year or more! *45 New Banded Birds* Yellow Warbler- 2 Magnolia Warbler- 1 Common Yellowthroat- 1 MacGillivray's Warbler- 2 Least Flycatcher- 3 Western Wood-Pewee- 3 Lincoln's Sparrow- 4 Chipping Sparrow- 1 House Wren- 2 Bullock's Oriole- 1 Gray Catbird- 2 Swainson's Thrush- 20 Hermit Thrush- 2 Veery- 1 *9 Recaptures(Amt changed in grams from original banding)* Hammond's Flycatcher- (+.1g) Common Yellowthroat- (+.6g) Ovenbird- (+.5g) House Wren- (-.3g) Plumbeous Vireo- (+.8g) Lincoln's Sparrow- 2 (+.3g, -.9g) Swainson's Thrush- 2 (-.5g, +.5g) *1 Return- Previously banded at the station* Say's Phoebe- female at least 6 years old Due to low inventory of Thrush bands, 21 SWTHs were released in addition to the banded numbers above.
