I looked at my photos of that Sandwich Tern, Colorado's only state record, and I see the differences between the American and Eurasian subspecies. that Sibley's article shows well. I agree the Colorado bird would be the Eurasian subspecies, very interesting! We do get some crazy birds in Colorado.
