Hi All,
        These sightings of vagrant flamingos in the eastern U.S. are apparently 
due to Hurricane Idalia.  Not only in Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, 
but also 5 flamingos sighted north of Milwaukee, Wisconsin (the first record 
for that state).  WOW!!
         With global warming, it makes one wonder if flamingos could even 
establish permanent flocks throughout Florida (and perhaps even states adjacent 
to Florida).  This time they could be protected (and not shot for feathers on 
women's hats).
