At 5:48 PM, we had 800 to 1,200 sandhill cranes flying overhead. We are 3 miles west of Lyons, and they were heading South (duh) and a little westish. Maybe heading for the water behind the dam at Nederland for the night??? Or maybe veering back east to Golden, etc.
