Perhaps if Greg has more free time he will write an expression
simplifier :-)
Perhaps the first thing to handle at is "x ? 1 : 0" and its negation.
But is it an improvement?
The ?: simplification would make it easier to read the code.
Other 'simplifications' may make it harder/easier for a reader of
the code to spot the mapping back to the application domain.
