[EMAIL PROTECTED]'03 will commence at 9.30 PM PST on the 8th of August 2003 (4.30
AM GMT 9th of August, 2003). The contestants will have 24 hours of turn
around time to submit their entries. Each contestant should send in the
executables along with the source code. Entries without source code will not
be accepted for evaluation. Entries received after 9.30 PM PST on the 9th of
August 2003 (4.30 AM GMT 10th of August, 2003) will also not be considered
for the contest. The challenge questions will be emailed to the registered
participants. They would also be published at the [EMAIL PROTECTED]'03 site.

Registration:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]'03 is not limited to any audience. It is open to all with brains
and a desire to win. To participate in the [EMAIL PROTECTED]'03 Programming
Contest, you must first register at <http://www.ustri.com/contest03> no
later than at 11.59 pm PST on the 6th of August, 2003 (6.59 AM GMT 7th of
August, 2003). The above link would take you to the registration site, where
you need to follow all the instructions to make your entry. Once the
registration is complete, a page containing the status of your registration
will be displayed.

Disclaimer:
The sponsor will not assume any responsibility in hardware, software or
network problems, errors or failures of any kind whether technical or human
leading to errors in transmission or receipt of entries. The sponsor
reserves all rights to suspend the contest in the event of virus or other
errors beyond the control of the sponsor affecting the security of the
sponsor's organization or that prevents the right evaluation of the entries.
The sponsor reserves all rights to use, copy, transfer and display all the
information contained in the entries as well as the details of the winner,
worldwide and in any media, for advertising and promotional purposes without
any compensation to the entrants.
Contestants are free to code in any one of the following languages:

*       C++
*       Java
*       COBOL
*       Perl
*       PHP
*       VB
*       VC
Libraries that can be used are:
*       C Run Time
*       STL
*       ANSI Compliant Standard Libraries
Evaluation:
The entries will be evaluated based on run-time characteristics like
execution speed, resource utilization, number of iterations to arrive at the
solution, etc. Expert panels for each language category would be evaluating
the entries. In addition to the expert panel, a separate panel of senior
technical architects of the respective language category will evaluate the
selected entries. In the event of a tie, the source code would be evaluated
for the structure, coding standards etc. In the unlikely event of a
persistent tie, there will be more than one winner. The decision of the
expert panel will be final. No communication will be entertained in this
regard. USTRI employees are not allowed to participate in this competition.
The Winner:
The results of [EMAIL PROTECTED]'03 will be published at the [EMAIL PROTECTED]'03 site 
on
the 14th of August, 2003. The winner will be emailed separately as well. An
acknowledgement mail should be sent back to the sponsor within 5 business
days of the receipt of the mail. Failure of acknowledgement would force the
sponsor to award the prize to an alternate winner. The winner of
[EMAIL PROTECTED]'03 will be eligible for a prize money of One thousand US dollars
(US$ 1,000), provided there is a minimum of 15 qualified entries for the
competition. The prize money would be sent as draft issued at the address of
the winner, as was specified in the registration process. Taxes, if any, on
the prize money will be the liability of the winner. In the most unlikely
event of more than one winner, the prize money would be shared among the
winners
