To check the version of DirectX in your system,
  1.. On the taskbar at the bottom of your screen, click Start, and then
click Run.
  2.. In the Run dialog box, type dxdiag
  3.. Click OK.
  4.. On the System tab of the dialog box that appears, under System
Information, the version of DirectX appears.
