I had a look through your site and such. A delay welcome to the group. One thing, while its upto each of us to appreciate a technology or not, maybe we shouldnt be so openly dismissive about it. Dont get me wrong, I am no great fan of Linux per se, but then again I would wish to give them credit where credit is due. Look at it this way - often thats not something that the windows programming community or the deep hacker cults have got back from them, But, that does not mean that we respond in teh same way. Fundamentally why I am into this is because I appreciate solid technology. Where ever it comes from. I have no reservations in saying the Microsft does it best in an overall perspective. They are not without their faults, but unlike the general mockery its made out to be, i dont think I would have made any of the decisions any differently if I was at MS when they were 'messing up'. Let us, like good techies, be men enoguh to give linux credit where credit is due - but still not lie down and take any flak. One fundamental reason why a typical windows guy feels zapped when confronted with something from teh unix line is beacuse he/she has seen only windows till that point. Windows is ususally so all encompassing that it blinds you from everything else. And also since there is a lot of legendary respect attached to unix based systems, the person generally concedes that their OS and tools are probably not that good. In simpler words its an issue of lack of education. I think we can help with that in time as the user group grows bigger, we will have more people who say that 'oh, i thought we couldnt do that ...
