hi mathew, Thank u very much for the info u have provided. Almost all of
the examples which is using FileSystemWatcher are Winform based apps. My application
is Web forms based. Thanks to ur info , i could work out a solution in principle
( i need to implement it on monday ) to use Global class as the handler to the
FileSystemWatcher notification. I feel , the object will always be in memory to
handle notifications. if that is the case , FileSystemWatcher can do the stuff for me.
Another way is to use a custom HttpModule to act as a handler for FileSystem Watcher
notification. This , i feel will make the request handling a bit slow. Will Asp.net
serialize the Global object to the disc ? Then i am in for a problem. Am i right in
saying that ASP.net serializes some Objects to the disc ? Thread Pooling mechanism of
ASP.net is able to handle thousands of simultaneous request with just a handful of
threads through this kind of serialization ..right ?.
