If it was her first night home, she would be missing her litter mates.  Do you have a stuffed animal in with her?  Next you may think about putting the crate in your bedroom where she can see you, that usually keeps them calm too.  Is she is a closed crate or a wire where she can see all around her, that may also make a difference.  A lot of people keep the crate close to the bed for the first few nights and when they whine they put their fingers in to soothe them.
