Thank you all so much for answering!

I have switched my allergic poo to Hill's Science Diet
rice and egg (a prescription-only kind).  And I
eliminated her treats except an occasional baby carrot
(as recommended by the vet).  We have been on this
diet exclusively for about three weeks.  I would say
she has improved but definitely is not itch-free.  I
am a little surprised because I expected more all or
nothing results, but I see from one of the last
replies that it may take up to two months even in the
best case scenario.  So I'll be patient, even though
it is sad to watch her!
