I leave a 5 foot lead on my cockapoo who is 7 months
old when we are in the house. That way I can grab her
quicker while we are training. My purpose was more
for housebreaking.. but try a 10-15 foot leash. I
even tied her to my waist with the longer leash until
I felt she was ok w/o my constant attention. If you
keep her attached to you or reachable at least it
might be easier. Otherwise, teach your kids to get
you before they go out in the meantime.

If you live in the Lehigh Valley, PA area I'd
recommend Camelot Dog training. They've been a
godsent.

Good luck.
