It can do with the diet or even your water. I would start with changing to distilled water. Also since your pup has allergies have you tried supplementing with Extra Virgin Coconut oil? The stuff is GREAT! Helps immune system, which is why you pup has allergies. Whole Dog Journal has had several articles about it, Oct + Nov.
