Hello everyone,
Thank you for the nice responses. Unfortunately, most breeders that were referred to us were in the US and we live in Canada... After much thought, we decided to go with the shihpoo after all. Then she got very ill merely a few days after we got her and it turns out, she now has the same virus that killed all of our breeders cockapoos, which I now know to be the Parvo virus.
She is in the hospital right now and will have to stay there a few days. I am devastated, I am a University student and at some point, will no longer be able to afford anymore vet bills which have now reached $2000. I have many hard decisions ahead of me.
I am very devastated about this but all i can hope for now is for her little body to fight through this and hopefully, the money I have will be enough.
Thanks to everyone for their advice and support.

So sorry to hear about the cockapoo puppy you were expecting. How
devastating.
I have a cockapoo, but I have a close friend who owns a shih-poo
puppy. She just got it about 7 months ago, and it's the cutest little
thing. He did very well with housetraining, and is a friendly boy.
Very nice disposition. I hope this helps!
