Well, First of all Congrats on the puppy. Remember the puppy will only be as good as its trainer/owner so you have to be deligent in your training. They are very smart so if you are good, you will have the best puppy.
Re: housetraining. Make a routine that the dog will learn. Have the same commands or questions.. want to go outside? Bring them to the door and set them down and say it again. Want to go outside? This will teach them when you say it, this is where they go, Don't carry them outside. Let them walk outside. They will learn to associate haveing to piddle w/ going to the door and going out. Sooner or later they will go to the door on their own when they have to go. Rule of thumb is they can hold it for 1/2 hours for every month old they are. Some dogs more some less but its a good guide. And praise them for going outside. A good hug and kiss will do. My brother in law has a shitzu that gets a treat everytime and expects it and he is a good 25-30 lbs. the poor thing is like a fully packed sausage. the size of the poo is based on the size of the poodle. Was it a teacup, miniture or standard. If you dont' know that well its hard to tell. my 2.... Frankie is a lanky light 19 lbs.. Vinnie is a solid thick 22 lbs. He is very dense. Grooming... Some may not think so but You can do that yourself believe it or not. But you have to have the right equipment. dont be fooled into thinking you need a groomer unless you are not able to do some things required. Nail trimming and teeth cleaning are easy if your dog is used to you touching its feet. even when you are watching tv always rub their feet, inbetween the pad and put your hands in their mouth. get them used to your hands being there... I could go on forever...if you are intersted in more ideas shoot me an email [EMAIL PROTECTED] Renee --- In [email protected], "helenmartin134" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Hello everyone, > > This weekend I got a cockapoo puppy, 9 weeks old, from a shelter in > CT.
