Our cockapoo, Cash Howard, is 7 months old. We have tried everything
but he still loves to bite our feet, and he also loves to chew up the
toilet paper or anything else paper that he finds. I have a photo in
his album (it's called Cash Howard) of a great example if you want to
check it out. :-) Those things are quite annoying. Do they ever grow
out of it? We try to distract him with other toys, and even give him
time-outs. Also, we set a soda can with pennies in it on the toilet
paper roll, but he found a way to chew on the roll without knocking it
over. He knocked it over once, but I think he's too smart to be scared
away by it.

What we find even more frustrating though is that he seems to have
separation anxiety of some sort. When we leave for work in the morning
it isn't an issue because he is used to that. Any time one of us
leaves later in the day he freaks out and cries and squeals and runs
to the door. Also, if we are in the car and one of us gets out and is
even visible he does the same thing. I've tried to ignore it instead
of encourage it or comfort him when he does it. I try to distract him
sometimes, but he still continues to do this. It's usually just for a
few minutes, but I'd like it to not happen at all. It doesn't seem
healthy, and I've never seen any other dog do this. Has anyone else
had experience with this? He only seems happy if both my husband and I
are with him. For instance, if we are both home but in different
rooms, he will lay down in a spot half way between the two rooms.

Other than these things, he is a joy to have. He is so adorable,
smart, and fun! Every day we talk about how happy we are to have Cash.
He makes life happier. :-) I put a bunch of fun photos of him in an
album today to share. I hadn't seen any other albums of cockapoos with
his coloring.

Thanks for any advice you might have!
Karin
