Thank y’all for the replies.  The omission is in both Xcode 6.4 and 7.1.  The 
answer is:

I got the opposite impression from here:

wherein it was said:

followed by a demo showing how to use one in storyboards :(

I’ll try to kludge it with the custom classes and hope that I’m lucky like Lee
