I don't understand your objection. "Not supported" does not mean that it does not work at all ever in any capacity whatsoever. "Not supported" essentially means, "we are not responsible if it breaks." WebView works in layer-backed mod... sort of. It is highly broken in many different ways, however. This brokenness is enough to say that it's not supported, and should be enough to convince anyone not to use it.
